JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
Reports to:
Operations Manager
Purpose and Scope:
The purpose of this position is to be responsible for supervising and assisting National Operations Crews. Ideal candidate must possess the ability to direct and assist the training and development of subordinates. Experience with negotiation and conflict resolution. Experience with project management including planning, budgeted and cost management. Experience working with a client interfacing business to business role. The construction manager plans, directs, and coordinates activities pertaining to the installation, dismantle, and maintenance of assigned projects in accordance with company policies. Responsible for establishing an atmosphere that promotes customer service and teamwork and support the goals of the organization and company policy.
Essential Job Functions:
Coordinate, facilitate, and communicate with project managers, customers, vendors, and installation supervisors to complete projects within the budgeted costs and time requirements.
Communicate directly with project managers to review the project budget and determine the scope of work.
Evaluate specifications for the project plan including safety requirements, start and completion dates, and staffing requirements for each project.
Direct, motivate, and hold accountable all supervisory personnel, subcontractors, and installers executing work procedures.
Support the mission statement of Mahaffey USA and Sunbelt Rentals.
Direct, promote, and coordinate the operations of the company in a manner that will optimize its performance and efficiency.
Interpret specifications and company policies to subordinates and/or contractors and enforce all safety procedures.
Communicate with project Managers to source specific customized materials for proposed projects.
Analyze and resolve work problems, including worker complaints and grievances.
Improve the operational systems, processes, and policies in support of the organization's mission €“ specifically, support better management reporting, information flow, and the efficiency of worker's on the job performance.
Observe on site performance through regular visits to job sites.
Ensure all vehicles are maintained in a safe condition for operation.
Facilitate the training of drivers in effective delivery requirements, forklift operation, man-lift operation and safe driving practices.
Regularly communicate with supervisors and installation teams regarding details and last-minute job changes
Need to be able to understand and prioritize problems and implement effective solutions
Other duties as assigned and needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Supervisory experience, required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
Basic mathematic skills
Ability to pass agility test
Travel at least 25% of time
High proficiency in Microsoft office Suite
Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
Physical Requirements and Working Environment:
Must stand for an extended periods. Most work will be outdoors with all weather conditions, in which some work areas may not be heated or air-conditioned. This job requires constant interaction with co-workers and with the public. This position requires frequent lifting and a significant degree of walking, bending and transporting objects of various weights and dimensions. May have exposure to chemicals, including but not limited to gasoline, diesel fuel, propane, kerosene and cleaning solvents. Propane is an obvious hazard therefore, a sense of smell is required.
