Ron Noble, a Novato, California-based civil engineer with 40 years of experience in coastal and ocean engineering, has been presented with the American Society of Civil Engineers' International Coastal Engineering Award in Hamburg, Germany.

The award recognized Noble's long-standing career and his achievements in research, design and education in the environmentally risky field of coastal engineering.

His firm, Noble Consultants, is an international civil engineering firm that specializes in coastal, structural, harbor and water resources engineering. Noble has done projects around the globe and recently completed a waterfront development in Jordan.

The company has offices in Novato, Los Angeles and the San Diego area. Revenues last year were $3.5 million.

The award is considered one of the most prestigious in the field of civil engineering.
