WSP USA has an immediate opening for a Bridge Load Rating Engineer
to join our Bridge Inspection team in Mooresville, NC.
Help manage load rating projects, tasks and staff in the Mooresville office. Mentor and help develop staff to achieve technical excellence in bridge load ratings
Position requires thorough knowledge of bridge load rating techniques in accordance with state DOTs and AASHTO requirements.
Perform load rating analyses on bridges of various complexities.
Direct other team members
Ensure technical compliance with all applicable standards and specifications

BS degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering field
5 years of experience in bridge load ratings
Proficiency with load rating applications such as AASHTOWare (BrR, BrD), SAP 2000 DESCUS, MDX, LARSA, STAAD Pro, BRASS, etc.
Proficiency with national standards such as AASHTO
Strong organizational skills
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to think critically and solve problems
Ability to work well in team-oriented structure
Valid, unrestricted driver's license
Ability to supervise, train and direct the work of team members
Cognizant of time and budget management
Professional Engineer License in North Carolina and/or South Carolina (or able to obtain through reciprocity)
Experience with computer applications such as AutoCAD, MicroStation and/or Civil 3D
Working knowledge of AASHTOWare BrR software
Local candidates highly preferred
NHI130055 Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges (or 130056 for Professional Engineers)
Additional FHWA/NHI Training – Fracture Critical and Ancillary Structures
