In response to the continued need to improve the Southern California Water Infrastructure, AECOM is seeking a Senior Project – Design Manager to support ongoing project needs, assist in the development of new projects and provide technical expertise as related to water, wastewater and reuse infrastructure projects. As a subject matter expert, will provide technical guidance in the development of projects, manage and mentor staff members and lead complex engineering projects through:
Being a technical resource for staff members by providing design guidance and preparing calculations pertaining to hydraulics, pipe design and water/wastewater treatment facilities.
Developing internal design standards for consistency across all offices within the region.
Providing directives and guidance to manage project involving RTF (Risk Triggering Factors) including risk avoidance mitigation plans.
Serving as a Design Manager on more complex clients and projects.
Having decision-making authority and directing other Project Managers in recognizing risk and uncertainty with plans to mitigate and eliminate such risk.
Directing and mentoring staff.
Working with internal AECOM resources and directing staff to avoid and minimize exposure to claims.
The ideal candidate will have the expertise and experience to provide technical guidance, develop specifications and manage complex projects and possess the following background:
Detailed knowledge of California water issues, regulations and funding processes.
Strong understanding of technological/water industry advancements and trends with the proven ability to communicate them to clients.
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
California PE license
BCEE, Envision and/or PMP certifications
