WSP USA's growing Nashville, Tennessee office is seeking an experienced, Senior Supervising Traffic Engineer. This position will be a key hire to help grow our Traffic Engineering practice, including Traffic Engineering design and ITS, signal design, traffic analysis, and traffic studies.
Serve as Lead Traffic Engineer for the state of Tennessee to build and maintain a Traffic Engineering practice – will lead traffic operations and design tasks for the staff in the state
Serve as project manager for traffic engineering projects
Traffic signal design and signal system routing plans
ITS and communication network plans
ITS and signal support for municipalities, state DOTs, and design-build projects
Traffic operations, capacity analysis, and simulation modeling.
Work on traffic analyses and crash analyses for DOT and municipal projects
Signing, pavement markings, and maintenance of traffic plans
May also support design-build or other traffic engineering projects as needed
Specific tasks/project work include:
Signal timing development and implementation
Traffic Signal Design
Intersection and corridor improvement studies
Interchange modification studies
Safety studies (accident analysis, collision diagrams)
Traffic Impact Studies
Traffic Design (Signing, Marking, MOT Plans)
B.S. in Civil Engineering or related field (Masters preferred)
15 years of traffic engineering experience
Registered Professional Engineer (PTOE a plus)
TDOT and TN municipal experience (preferred)
Knowledge of traffic engineering and planning software (HCS, Synchro, VISSIM, ArcGIS) preferred (CAD or Microstation experience a plus)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel and Power Point required
Registered PE in Tennessee
