WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Bridge Engineer
for our Chicago
Duties and Responsibilities:
Conceptual through final analysis and design for the rehabilitation of existing bridges and other transportation related structural systems.
Analysis and load rating of existing bridges
Structural Inspection of bridges and transportation structures (vehicular, rail and transit facilities), and the identification and prioritization of repairs.
Preparation of final drawings, technical specifications, construction cost estimates and construction schedules for new and rehabilitation of existing bridges and other transportation or facilities related structural systems.
Review of construction phase submittals
Preparation and review of technical reports
Review previous inspection reports and plan field operations
Perform inspection work and compile reports
Direct other field members
Enforce safe operations in field
Liaison with client field/facility staff, assist with critical condition findings

A minimum of 10 years bridge related experience
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
MS in civil/structural engineering
PhD in civil/structural engineering
Working knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications, AASHTO Guide Specifications for LRFD; Seismic Bridge Design, ACI, and Eurocode
