Description Be part of the Newport News growing team! Review construction plans and specifications. Prepare and negotiate contracts, contract revisions and changes. Evaluate construction methods and make recommendations to most cost effective and efficient means of performing work. Prepare,monitor and manage construction budgets. Inspect the work of contracts to determine compliance with contract plans and specifications. Review and analyze project schedules. Ability to maintain and update project schedules, Prepare monthly project reports. Perform construction management support servies as assigned, including constructability reviews, cost estimating, claims analysis, proposal preparation and business development. Requirements Degree in engineering or construction management. NICET, EIT, PE or other professional/technical certification and registration a plus. Understanding of VDOT policies and programs preferred.u00a0 Knowledge and understanding of principals and practices of highway and bridge construction. Knowledge and understanding of project controls, including CPM scheduling, cost estimating, constructability reviews, contract administration and claims analysis. Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications. Minimum of 7 years progressive experience managing construction projects including 2 years of supervisory experience.
