Director of Market Development
Under the direction of the President of Thermomass, the Director of Market Development will be tasked with identifying key marketing/sales opportunities within strategic market segments that would benefit from Thermomass’ distinctive products and services portfolio. The individual will leverage strong relationships within these segments to proactively identify marketing/sales opportunities, and drive these opportunities through the appropriate Thermomass sales channel.
Develop a comprehensive understanding of key construction trends within key growth markets, and a dynamic perspective on the leading institutions in the market (owners, design builders, architects, engineers and suppliers)
Develop a comprehensive understanding of Thermomass products and services, and develop the right offerings to leading institutions that will create value for both them and Thermomass.
Work with R&D and the Thermomass sales team in the identification and delivery of new product ideas and collaborate on trends, innovative specs, product uses and marketing strategies.
Conduct business reviews with accounts and develop opportunities to penetrate the account.
Ensure that accounts are represented across state and regional boundaries.
Assist regional sales team with development of new account and business opportunities.
Develop executive level partnerships with targeted leading institutions and educate that team on the value of early Thermomass involvement in significant construction projects.
Build an internal network by establishing a trusting relationship with key divisional decision makers and sales professionals
Coordinate with Oldcastle Business Development personnel to develop projects and deliver on sales opportunities.
Develop an expertise of strategic account processes (e.g. business development, project management), economics, and needs and communicate to internal and external stakeholders as appropriate.
Participate on the Thermomass Senior Leadership Team.
Work with industry associations such as IARW, DBIA, and other related associations to create awareness of Thermomass systems.
Deep understanding, hands-on knowledge, and appreciation of owner, developer, contractor, and architectural construction needs, processes, and economics
Ability and experience to develop executive level relationships.
Ability to build and maintain strong internal relationships - recognizing the unique organizational needs of various business units.
Ability to independently analyze developer/contractor strategies and needs to articulate supplier value proposition.
Comfort with working across a technical range of products.
Strong influencing skills; ability to drive results and revenue in a matrix environment as an influencer, not ultimate decision maker, on customer transactions.
Ability to obtain data/information and analyze that information to understand and communicate opportunities to relevant business units.
Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Business, Architecture or related field or equivalent experience.
5 years of experience in Construction Management, Estimating, Bid Development or related field.
Recent experience as a Project Manager.
LEED certification, BIM Project Management experience a plus.
