Work involves a variety of activities including conceptual and detailed design / documentation of utility distribution including natural gas distribution and supply. Work requires knowledge of National and International Codes and Standards, CPS Energy utility’s standards, COSA standards, SAWS utility standards, and TXDOT construction standards. Work will also require field investigations and construction support. Candidate shall be capable of performing utility distribution calculations, design/documentation, and non-routine assignments with little or no direction. Knowledge of GIS is a must. Knowledge of Civil 3D and AutoCAD is highly desired. Construction administration will include As-Built drawing review, site inspection, and site investigation report production.
Candidate shall have excellent communication and technical writing skills and meet expectations for attendance and punctuality.
Must have a Texas Professional Engineering (PE) license or the ability to obtain one within six (6) months.
Minimum of five (5) years’ experience is required.
Experience with CPS Energy and other local utility entities is strongly preferred.
Experience with government work is highly desired.
Minimum of one (1) year of experience using ArcGIS required.
Working knowledge of AutoCAD or MicroStation is highly desired.
Proficient using Microsoft Office Excel & Word.
Experience using technical codes and standards.
Experience in document/reports generation for utility distribution systems.
Client projects for this position require U.S. Citizenship.
Local candidates preferred/no relocation assistance provided.
Candidate must pass a background check given the criteria set by the client.
The job requires the ability to sit for extended periods at a computer workstation.
