Bachelor’s degree in the civil engineering field
0-5 years of design experience
Computer skills required. Experience with MicroStation/InRoads.
Communication (written and verbal) skills; ability to be a team player; display of high energy; and problem solving skills
Registration as an EIT or Professional Engineer
Familiarity with GDOT roadway design criteria
General Duties & Responsibilities
Prepares and modifies reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, environmental impact studies, and designs for difficult projects.
Plans and develops engineering projects concerned with unique or controversial problems. This involves exploration of subject area, definition of scope and selection of problems for investigation, and development of novel concepts and approaches.
Perform detailed roadway calculations.
Assist with computation of plan quantities to support cost estimates.
Support completion of final submittal documents for design and/or rehabilitation projects.
Preparation of plans using Microstation and other design software.
Works well independently and in team environment.
Assures that assignments are completed within the allocated period of time and within the budget that has been assigned.
Commitment to quality work and timely communication.
Maintain professional and technical skills by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
