Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a highly talented Project Manager/Roadway Engineer for our Cleveland or Akron, OH locations.

The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in Civil Engineering specific to intersection and roadway design, drainage design, utility coordination, and the preparation of construction documents, including plans, specifications and construction estimates.

The candidate can look forward to projects including:

Intersection and Interchange Improvement Plans

Interstate Reconstruction Plans

Rural Roadway Improvement Plans

Maintenance of Traffic Plans

Drainage and Erosion Control PlansResponsibilities include a combination of the following:

Plans, schedules, conducts or coordinates detailed phases of the engineering for a moderate scope project.

May develop and evaluate project plans and criteria for a variety of roadway or intersection projects.

Verifies that applicable codes, engineering standards and environmental commitments are being met.

Reviews and approves scopes, budgets and schedules for assignments.

Tracks overall financial performance of task assignment, which includes coordinating with the Project Manager to monitor sold time and work backlog on task.

Delegates work to, mentors, trains and supervises less experienced staff to complete assignments.

Assist in developing marketing strategies for targeted projects to public sector clients in Northeast Ohio.

Contact and interact with local public sector clients in order to successfully complete assigned projects

Provide assistance in business development and aid in interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating client proposals and marketing efforts

Work with Principals, other Project Managers, and marketing staff to identify new business and/or client targets, and assist in the marketing of professional services as requested

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor of Arts/Science in Civil Engineering from an accredited university/college, related field or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Minimum 4 years of experience with an emphasis in civil engineering fields such as highway design, storm water and multi-modal transportation projects.

Experience developing plans and specifications for ODOT, OTIC, counties, and municipalities.

Must have the ability to plan and design roadways and related storm water drainage, site improvements and utilities

Ability to independently develop contract documents, perform calculations, write specifications, and develop estimates

Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Bentley MicroStation/Geopak and experience with MS Office, Storm water design and analysis software, and be able to work as a member of a team or perform independent work as required

Good interpersonal skills, good command of the English language both, verbally and written, the ability to express thoughts clearly, good time management skills, and a good attitude towards work

Willingness to learn to manage projects and track financial status

Some overnight travel may be required

Valid driver's license required

Preferred Qualifications
