Staff Structural Engineer','190398','Structural Engineering','!*!We are seeking to hire a Staff Structural Engineer within our Transmission & Distribution Global Practice Houston, TX regional office! As an employee owner, this position offers base, bonus, ESOP and competitive benefits!As a Staff Structural Engineer, incumbent will perform various phases of planning, proposal preparation, site evaluations, analytical designs, report preparation, specifications and preparation of construction documentation and environmental plans as part of a project team. This position will work on various projects with a diverse portfolio of project types and clients.Assist in the execution of various structural project designs including electrical equipment foundations, cable tray supports, new construction and retrofit work.Assist in the development of project deliverables includes FEP phase design concepts through detailed design.Develop Drawings for production work including problem analysis, design layout and calculations on non-routine assignments of substantial variety and complexity.Execute variety of civil design assignments using prescribed methods and standard techniques including drawing sequence and presentation, sizing various system components and reefing rough sketches.Execute changes to designs or sketches and redlines or mark-ups on ongoing projects.Analyze reports, maps, drawings, tests, 2D and 3D survey data, and other topographical data to plan and design projects.Responsible for incorporating design codes and specifications related to design requirements.Review design drawings for quality assurance within scope, budget and schedule.Review schedules, budgets and project criteria into civil design and layouts.Organize and maintain all revisions of project 3D model, drawings, plot files and project-related information in a logical and well-structured manner.Participate in the structural design Quality Review process. Includes back checking drawings, models and components, and re view of shop drawings using model.All other duties assigned.
· ','!*!Bachelor's degree in civil/structural engineering from accredited program.Minimum 3 years related experience (completion of master's degree in related field may be substituted for one year of experience). Field experience preferred.Expert understanding of design software such as: RISA3D, RISAFoundation, STAADPro and Excel to develop the design deliverables.Expert knowledge in design, calculations and design systems.Expert knowledge in the theory and practices of civil discipline; competent in the fundamental concepts of other disciplines as they relate to the assigned discipline; and capable of operating related discipline design software necessary to execute production tasks.Ability to work collaboratively with others (Project Managers, Engineers and Designers) in a multi-discipline project team environment to resolve design or drawing issues as appropriate and to accomplish objectives.Excellent written & verbal communication skills. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. This position requires an experienced and competent individual capable of successfully solving difficult problems that require adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria. Must be capable of devising new approaches to problems encountered. Completion of FE exam.
