The Schaumburg office seeks a highly motivated Civil/Highway Engineer/3D Modeler
. This person will be a member of our highway division and will assist in various tasks including Geopak SS4/3D modeling, plan preparation, quantity calculations, geometric design, pavement marking/signing, drainage design, traffic studies, traffic signal design, public involvement, report writing, specifications, cost estimates, roadway lighting, and other related tasks. The individual may also be called on to work closely with other teams on multi-disciplinary projects. The engineer will have the opportunity to work on challenging projects in a unique and dynamic work environment.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
Two to four years of highway/roadway design experience
Proficiency in Microstation, Geopak, and Microsoft Office
Registered Professional Engineer
Four years of progressive highway/roadway design experience
Experience working directly or as a consultant for the Illinois Tollway, Illinois DOT, Chicago DOT, local counties and municipalities, and with Federally-funded projects
Geopak SS4/3D experience with modeling, cross sections and SUDA
Candidates should possess strong technical skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team environment on multi-disciplinary projects.
General Duties & Responsibilities

Analyzes information and data to perform routine design tasks.
Receives instructions from Project Manager or Senior Project Engineers as to the general results expected.
Research design options and document findings.
Responsible as a member of the design them for accuracy of engineering design and plans, quality presentation, thoroughness and follow-through, and efficient conformance to budgets, schedules, and company standards.
Researches code requirements.
Prepares environmental impact and other administrative reports required for project permits.
Keeps Project Manager informed of workload and any changes in project schedule or scope or additional services.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
Assist or participate in preparation of business proposals.
May be asked to participate in non-design engineering activities such as construction inspection and materials testing, surveying, CADD production, and field data collection.
