The Project Engineer, Structural performs structural design and engineering services for a wide variety of building types nationally. At ERDMAN, this involvement extends from concept planning to owner occupancy.
Key Responsibilities - Engineering Design:
Prepares and presents concepts to the owner and design team.
Explains design options to communicate the associated benefits or risk to the design, schedule, and budget.
Collaborates with architects, other engineering disciplines, and site design as structural systems are developed.
Coordinates early trade involvement of critical systems.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering required.
Certifications and/or Licenses : Registered Professional Engineer (PE) and Registered Structural Engineer (SE) preferred
Experience & Training:
5-10 years of structural engineering design experience.
Understanding of the design process including concept, schematic, design development, and construction as it relates to structural engineering.
Knowledge of reinforced concrete, steel, light gauge steel and wood design for building structures
Understanding of healthcare including medical equipment impacts and considerations for structural design, IBC and ASCE-7.
Working knowledge of the AISC steel construction manual, ACI building code requirements for structural concrete, national design specification for wood construction, and building code requirements and specifications for masonry structures.
Proficient in MS Office, Autodesk Revit structure, RAM, and TEDDS and Visual Analysis for modeling and design of the superstructure.
5% travel within the United States required.
