Job Summary

AECOM is seeking highly motivated Entry Level Engineer for the Highway Department in Murray, UT.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an ambitious, career oriented professional who excels in a team environment, but is also able to work independently. AECOM is a very progressive and successful engineering firm that prides itself on building and retaining a diverse, high caliber staff to continually meet client expectations on high profile projects.

The appropriately qualified applicant will be part of a Design Team responsible for the design and/or planning of highway and roadway projects.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

Working within the Highway group on the planning and design of civil engineering projects including local roadways, highways, interstates, freight and transit, drainage improvements and utility relocation and protection Preparation of reports, construction plans, and technical specifications Collaborating with design teams consisting of multidiscipline design engineers, technicians and planners

Builds analytic and design skills

Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an

experienced engineer

Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer

Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer

Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems

Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision

Working under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member and assist with tasks including preparing engineering related calculations, drawings, and visual aids

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering

Strong problem solving and decision making abilities

Strong interpersonal skills

Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing and standard office software

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE)

Relevant internship or professional work experience in support of transportation design

Experience with Microstation and InRoads software
