WSP is currently initiating a search for a Structural Engineer Intern
for our Atlanta
office for the Summer of 2019.
This opportunity is available for a college student in good standing working towards a Civil Engineering
within an accredited program and a focus on structural engineering
. The candidate will gain experience in GDOT Highway Bridge design projects under direct supervision of the firm's leading Structural Engineering professionals.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist more experienced Engineers in broader Engineering activities
Perform basic Design calculation
Perform routine Engineering functions
Perform sketches and drawings
Assist with quantity and cost estimate
standing as a Junior, Senior, or Graduate student actively enrolled in an accredited Engineering (or related) Undergraduate or Graduate Program. (Those who have already completed degree studies do
qualify as candidates for this or any of our internships.)
Must have completed basic foundational & Structural courses including, but not limited to: Engineering Draft course, AutoCad, Mechanics/Statics, Structural Analysis, Structural Steel Design, Reinforced Concrete
Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Must be motivated and have a strong desire to learn engineering skills related to civil and structural projects.
The selected candidate must have the ability to work in the United States immediately.
Master’s candidates preferred. Please note that there is no relocation or housing assistance associated with this internship.
Experience with Microstation
, and knowledge of reading construction plans.
Experience with Structural analysis or Bridge design software: STAAD, SAP2000, CSIBRIDGE, Leap Software’s
Experience with structural design work, or worked on design project
