Profile

D274 Nuclear Operations requires a highly motivated individual with strong independent decision making skills to fill the position of DMD Coordinator/Special Emphasis Program Lead.

Primary responsibility will be the planning and execution of Dual Media Discharges on assigned ships with additional responsibilities as Nuclear Project Manager of Overhaul and Repair Work.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Coordination of tasks involving multiple personnel, both EB and Navy, in a manner that supports established schedules and strictly adheres to safety standards

- Overall responsibility of assigned projects, to include Dual Media Discharges and commissioned ship availabilities

- Manpower and Resource coordination between multiple departments

- Pre-job planning and preparation, to include training and test gear fabrication

- Facility operation and maintenance

- Successful job execution and product quality

Extensive interface and effective communication with customer representatives, both Navy and EB, including Submarine Commanding Officers and engineers, Squadron Commanders and Staff, Type Commander Staff, Naval Reactors representatives, and corporate directors and vice presidents will be required.

The successful candidate should have an extensive background in Nuclear Submarine Reactor Plant operation and repair, a strong understanding of the Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual and post-delivery maintenance procedures.

This position reports directly to the Manager of Nuclear Operation Overhaul and Repair (Shipyard) and is required to assist Ships managers.

Candidate must be medically able to draw required dosimetry and qualify and maintain an R radiation worker. A DOD Confidential or higher security clearance is required.
