Job Summary

AECOM has an immediate need for a Project Engineer with experience in Water/Wastewater and Water Resources in our Chelmsford, MA office. Responsibilities of the role includes, but not limited to:

Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.

Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.

Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.

Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments.

Identifies discrepancies in results.

Provides guidance to entry level engineers.

Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.

Independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete primary design

elements for engineering works.

Performance at this level requires developmental experience in a professional position.

We deliver our services—from environmental planning studies to detailed design, construction management, and operations and maintenance—to a wide range of public and private sector clients. Our public sector work encompasses everything from small rural communities, to large urban centers, to agencies with regional responsibilities. Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Civil or Environmental engineering with an emphasis in water, wastewater, water resources or other related field required

4 years of experience on water, wastewater and water resource projects

Registered Professional Engineer licensed in New England

Experience developing engineering deliverables such as engineering reports, design drawings, technical specifications, and other detailed engineering deliverables

Demonstrated technical skills and experience working on storm water, water, wastewater, or flood protection/resilience projects

Preferred Qualifications

7 years of experience on water, wastewater and water resource projects

Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental engineering with an emphasis in water/waste water or other related field required

Excellent communication skills and the ability to be client-facing

Strong presentation skills

Strong commitment to ensuring safe project execution

Must have excellent organizational skills and be able to work well in a team environment

Makes decisions independently on engineering problems and methods

Self-starter and ability to take initiative

Client focused service perspective is a must
