Civil Engineer Entry-Level Jobs
An entry level civil engineer is responsible for managing the routine development of civil engineering construction documents and performing site visits on regular basis. He/she assists the senior civil engineer in preparing the conceptual, preliminary and final design and attends meetings with client to coordinate various design activities and is responsible for providing material lists for quotations. The other functions of an entry level civil engineer include writing, documenting and maintaining reports, producing AutoCAD drawings during the proposal stage and finalizing the working drawings for the site keeping in consideration the safety norms, efficiency, budget and compliance with the specified standards and contract specifications. An entry level civil engineer should demonstrate strong capabilities in cost estimation, scheduling, roadway design and utilization of CADD software packages including AutoDesk. Microstation, AutoCADD as well as MS Office.
A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required for this position. An entry level civil engineer should possess good analytical, problem solving and communication skills.
