Bridge Manager Jobs
A bridge manager is responsible for planning and organization of the project, providing technical guidance to the design team and ensuring an effective and timely delivery of bridge design solutions. He should possess the knowledge of detailed design, substructure design and super structure design of bridges and should be familiar with the procedures of contract documentation and preparation of tenders. It is the responsibility of a bridge manager to inspect the project regularly and undertake risk assessments and safety checks. A bridge manager has to ensure project compliance with relevant health and safety legislation and a safe working environment for his staff. The other functions of a bridge manager include attending to queries pertaining to structure maintenance and repair, risk management, maintaining relationship with contractors and clients and evaluating vendor proposals.
A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering is required for this position along with problem solving, planning and organizational as well as good communication skills with experience in working on bridge design, assessment and inspection.
