A civil design professional is responsible for supporting the production of civil and structural construction drawings. The functions of a civil design professional consist of preparing 3D models of concrete and steel structure, perform basic calculations to support the design work and Material Take Off preparation and produce 2D drawings. Also, it is the responsibility of a civil design professional to develop concepts and review subcontractor civil designs. He/she has to travel to the site and solve civil design issues related to the project. A civil design professional should be well conversant with tools like Framework Plus, Micro station, PDS, Smart Plant Review as well as MS Office because he has to utilize these tools in execution of his project.
A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering Technology or Drafting is required for this position. A civil design professional should be proficient in AutoCAD and Micro station, Frameworks Plus,
PDS and SmartPlant Review with experience in developing concrete foundation drawings.
